I enjoy creating portrait pieces. I like drawing facial features such as the eyes, nose, and lips. Each and every person has a different face with different features and I find it fun to try and recreate those features. The face has small details that make it the way it is and I do my best to show those in my drawings and paintings. I prefer to draw just the head of a person because I'm not good at drawing bodies. I struggle with proportioning it correctly. I stick to portraits because its fun and I have a better idea of how each part of the face should be drawn or painted.
This was my first portrait I've done with painting. It came out better than I thought it would, but I still see a lot of flaws in it. Using acrylics is difficult because the paint dries so quickly, leaving me little time to mix and blend in the paint. This is my favorite piece so far and the most enjoyable one as well. I would like to do more portrait paintings in the future.
I love the different values in the hair and the shading on the face. Looks good!
ReplyDeleteI love the way this is done, and how you have different dynamics in the colors. I love how you shaded and did lighting.
